BRENTWOOD SOCCER CLUB

History

Brentwood Youth Soccer Club is a not-for-profit 501©3 soccer organization in Suffolk County, New York. The club has been providing quality soccer training since 1974 and a wide range of soccer programs for all ages and skill levels. Our programs include Travel, Pre-Academy, and Premier programs with teams from U8-U19 year-round, along with an intramural (Recreational) program for children to learn basic skills in a non-competitive, fun environment.  BYSC also runs various camps and clinics throughout the summer of each year including training camps run by international coaches, such as Kevin Grogan, a Man United Academy Product, and Samuel Caballero, former Honduras Men’s National Team standout, to name a few.

BYSC has a history of affiliating and partnering with international academies, most notably  AS Roma, 2012-2013, when Francesco (Ciccio) Graziani, former Italian World Cup winner, was the delegate in charge of that initiative.  For the past three years, the club has been providing our players with the opportunity to train overseas through its international partnership programs in England and Spain.  Our first and foremost priority is providing the best soccer environment and competitive opportunities for our youth at the most affordable cost.

Brentwood Soccer is iconic in developing players into many influential role models from coaches, teachers, guidance counselors, movie producers, successful business owners, to professional athletes and coaches at the national stage.

All our training and games are at our home fields, located at the Brentwood State Park, previously known as The Pilgrim State Soccer Fields since Fall 1978 as per permission granted to the club by the NYS Office of Mental Health to use the property as soccer fields for its program.  In 1998, after the property along with the Pilgrim state hospital, had been put up for sale, the club and its supporters rallied together to save the fields for the community.  With the generosity of the buyer, the late Jerry Wolkoff, who took the parcel off the sale and returned it to OMH in his effort to keep it for the community, the parcel was shortly later preserved under the NYS Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation.  In April 2003 Pilgrim State Soccer Fields were transferred to Parks and Recreation and become Brentwood State Park.

The Brentwood Premier Program started as a club-based elite program that competes in the NYCSL National Premier League as one of the original members in, Fall of 2012.  Since then, the club has sent teams regularly to National Playoffs where representing NPL teams compete against ECNL teams for the National title.

Currently, the club's Premier program is competing in the US Youth Soccer National League, North Atlantic Conference under the Club v Club Division as of fall 2020.  Our teams strive to reach the National Competition and earn their place in the National League P.R.O.  For the past two seasonal years since participating in the USYS National League, Brentwood teams have successfully qualified to participate in the NL P.R.O., a path to the national competition.
